Thatched roofs created from palm fronds by local craftsmen mix durability with artistry. The architect, Karina Cabana and her husband Gustavo Jasso have created an organic architectural space in Troncones, Mexico that complements the natural beauty that surrounds you. There are few walls and no windows as the vision is to experience the unity between inside and outside. Adding to the artistic vision of our Trocones retreat, Karina and Gustavo has been Brandon Hoskins, an interior designer from Los Angeles. “When my client, a psychologist, asked me to work with her on a house in Troncones, Mexico that had no exterior walls, windows or doors, I thought she was on the wrong side of the couch. However, once I saw the house I was hooked. The challenge of designing Villa Milagro and the beauty and simplicity of Troncones has me spellbound”.
Furnishings: The colors are earthy and neutral to allow the beautiful natural surroundings to emerge and to create a feeling of serenity that has an Asian sensibility to it. In keeping with the spirit of a ”green house”, the furniture is made out of teak and other local tropical woods that have been grown especially for making furniture or utilizing wood that has fallen in surrounding jungles. The furniture and lamps are created by Troncones and Zihuatanejo local craftsmen and artists and the art and accessories are from the owner’s personal collection of folk art collected over a life time of traveling throughout Asia, Africa and Mexico.

Villa Milagro is only a thirty minute drive from Zihuatanejo-Ixtapa International Airport . Created by local artisans and craftsmen in an eco friendly style, this estate is exclusively located on a pristine cove, known as “Lover’s Beach”. It is directly south of the homes, restaurants and activities of the quaint village of Troncones, yet only a five minute walk from the center of town.
Troncones Bay is a sanctuary established by the Mexican government to protect sea turtles that lay their eggs along these magnificent white sandy beaches. All rooms face directly to the beach which is rock free, perfect for swimming, boogie boarding, snorkeling or surfing. At the right time of season you might be fortunate enough to witness the birth of these turtles and watch hundreds of baby turtles moving toward life and the sea.
While Villa Milagro is uniquely distanced from other residential and commercial properties along the beach and inland, offering true privacy to its guests, the quaint village of Troncones is only a ten minute walk from the Villa.
Buses
Car rentals are a great way to drive through the area. They can be rented either at the airport or at their various locations in both Zihuatanejo & Ixtapa. Rental car companies include AcaRent, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Europcar, and Hertz. Know that the rates can be expensive.
Taxis
Local taxis can be found through out the surrounding areas including Troncones so traveling around should be easy no matter where you are. For the most part taxis are clean, well maintained and reliable. You can rent a taxi for sightseeing trips and to get anywhere in the local areas.Local taxis are not allowed to pick up passengers on the airports property; however, you can always run a local trick
carrying your luggage outside of the airport gates and catching a taxi or even one of the passing buses. The airport property is about 100 yards right outside the entrance gate where you will see a small open-air restaurant: grab a drink and get a taxi.
The rates for renting taxis are fixed and should be displayed in the vehicles, but it's a smart idea to ask the driver BEFORE getting in their car to assure no communication issues.
